March 21, 2020

Celebrate the life and journey of beloved Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, with all-day performances by Cuicacalli Dance Company and Mariachi La Misión. Join us for the exhibition kickoff of Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving.

Cuicacalli Dance Company founded and directed by Mexican native, Jesús Jacoh Cortés is a multidisciplinary dance company that fuses various styles into a unique story of their own. Inspired by cultural traditions and through their evolution, Jesús Cortés develops choreographies for Cuicacalli’s Ballet Folklórico Mexicano to revive and maintain the culture of México. Cuicacalli carries strongly its mission: to serve the diverse communities of San Francisco with dedication toward instruction, performances, and community programs for intergenerational students, artists, and audiences.
